Dr. Steven Prager joined Central Coast Allergy & Asthma in 1996. He treats patients of all ages with allergies, asthma and immune problems.

Dr. Prager attended medical school at The University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He then trained in pediatrics at Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles. Upon completion of his training, he spent a year working as a pediatrician in Arcadia, California.

Dr., Prager then underwent specialty training in Allergy and Immunology at the National Jewish Clinical and Research Center (N.J.C.) in Denver, Colorado. While at N.J.C. his research delved into some of the causes of severe steroid-dependent asthma. He has presented his research at the national conferences of The American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology and The American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.

Dr. Prager is board certified in the field of Allergy and Immunology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (ACAAI), The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAA&I) and previously The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). He is on staff at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital and Community Hospital. He is also a past president of the American Lung Association of the Central Coast. Dr. Prager is the medical director of the Mark R. Velcoff Asthma Camp; the Monterey County summer camp for children with asthma.

USA Today listed Dr. Prager, May 14,2009, as one of the most influential doctors in the treatment of asthma.
